On the 19th, the 30th LG Cup Chosun Ilbo Go King Tournament, which started in 1996 and has left a significant mark on the history of Go in the world, was held at the Gonjiam Resort in Gwangju, Gyeonggi-do.
At the tournament, in a highly anticipated match between the youngest and oldest players, Sumire Nakamura (16) and Risei Oh (67), Sumire Nakamura won and earned a ticket to the round of 16.
The eight players who advanced to the round of 24 (six from South Korea, one from Japan, and one from Chinese Taipei) will compete in the round of 16 on the 21st along with the eight seeded players who were bye-matched in the first round.
The round of 16 consists of five Korean players, Byun Sang-il, Shin Jin-seo, Park Jung-hwan, Shin Min-joon, and Seol Hyun-jun (9-dan), and two Japanese players, Ichiriki Ryo (9-dan) and Iyama Yuta (9-dan).
One Chinese player, Heo Hao-ho (9-dan), will also join the group, bringing the total to 11 players from Korea, three from Japan, and two from Chinese Taipei.
As a result of the draw held immediately after the game, the first and second ranked players, Shin Jin-seo 9-dan and Park Jung-hwan 9-dan,
The match was held. Defending champion Byun Sang-il 9-dan will face Cho Jun-hoon 9-dan, and Choi Jeong 9-dan will face Ahn Kuk-hyun 9-dan to compete for a place in the quarterfinals.

The 30th LG Cup Chosun Ilbo Go King Tournament, sponsored by the Chosun Ilbo News Agency and supported by LG Corporation, has a prize of 300 million won (approximately 30 million yen) for the winner and 100 million won for the runner-up.
Each competitor will have three hours to compete in the finals, with five 40-second timeouts.
