TWS and ”So cute you can't stop looking!”... The star instructor who led the ”Antal Challenge” boom
The group TWS, currently causing an 'Antar boom', has sparked discussion by revealing the know-how behind their challenge.
TWS posted "[TWS:ERIES] TWS Mini 4th Album 'play hard' Challenge Behind-the-Scenes" on their official team YouTube channel and the global superfan platform Weverse at 6 PM on the 12th.
The 'Antar Challenge' involves cheekily shaking one's shoulders to the chorus of 'OVERDRIVE', naturally bringing smiles to viewers' faces. TWS demonstrated their signature charm by lightly biting their fingers and shared tips like 'just be so adorable it's unbearable to watch', showcasing their mastery as 'charm experts'.
The 'Antal boom' shows no sign of cooling. This challenge was spotlighted again at the '10th Anniversary Asia Artist Awards 2025' (AAA) held on the 6th, prompting around 20,000 short videos featuring 'OVERDRIVE' to be posted on social media within just over four days. Beyond celebrity participation, the challenge has spread as a meme across everyday moments where charm is desired – from "university applicants begging to go" to "elderly folks wanting to play with their grandchildren". The ‘Antal Challenge’ videos uploaded to TWS's official Instagram have surpassed a cumulative total of 200 million views.
Buoyed by the challenge's popularity, ‘OVERDRIVE’ has maintained its position at number 5 on TikTok's music chart Viral 50. On Instagram's "Trending Reels Audio" chart, where it peaked at number 1 during its promotional period (21st October), it re-entered at number 13 (10th December) after a month and a half, and has since climbed daily, reaching number 6 (12th December).
This fervour extends to the music charts. ‘OVERDRIVE’ has begun re-entering Melon's daily chart, achieving its highest position to date (79th place) as of 11th December, while maintaining its ranking on the weekly chart for six consecutive weeks. On Bugs' daily chart, the song's position surged 29 places in just three days, the steepest climb since ‘AAA’.
Meanwhile, TWS continues its year-end activities across various stages. Tomorrow (14th) on KBS 2TV's "2025 MUSIC BANK Global Festival IN JAPAN", on the 25th at "2025 SBS Gayo Daejun", on the 27th at "COUNTDOWN JAPAN 25/26", and on the 31st at "2025 MBC Gayo Daesajeon".
