Yim Siwan won the award at the 33rd Korea Cultural and Entertainment Awards (hereinafter referred to as the Cultural and Entertainment Awards), held at the Land Ballroom.
The Cultural and Entertainment Awards, one of the four major award ceremonies in Korea, is held to honor the best in movies, dramas, and other fields.
It is the largest comprehensive culture and arts awards ceremony in Korea, with awards given in 70 categories, including five grand prizes in categories such as music, K-POP, and musical.
Siwan won the Best Actor award in the film category for his role in the Netflix original film "Mantis," which was released in September.
In the spin-off film "Praying Mantis," which is based on the worldview of the 2011 film "Gil Bok-soon," Siwan plays the role of "A-class killer" Lee Ha-neul and displays his powerful action skills.
Siwan, holding the glorious trophy, said, "Thank you for receiving such a big award. I felt the hard work of the many production staff members as I performed the action scenes in 'Praying Mantis'.
I will continue to film without forgetting that the sweat of the staff who work hard on set is in every project. I would like to give them a round of applause."
Meanwhile, Yim Siwan released his first solo album, "The Reason," on the 5th, and met his fans as a singer for the first time in a while.
