「NewJeans」の「ETA」MV問題、ミン・ヒジン元代表の発言にADORが強硬姿勢…「クリエイターだからと免罪符にはならない」
ADOR takes a firm stance against Min Hee Jinformer's comments regarding NewJeans' ”ETA” music video controversy... ”Just because you're a creator doesn't give you an excuse”
ADOR has refuted the testimony of Min Hee Jinformer, the company's representative, in a lawsuit for damages against the video production company Dolphin Union.
On the 9th, the 62nd Civil Division of the Seoul Central District Court (Chief Judge Lee Hyun-suk) ruled that "ADOR" was an external video production company.
The fourth hearing was held in a lawsuit seeking damages worth approximately 1.1 billion won (approximately 1.1 billion won) filed against the company Dolphin Union and director Shin Woo-suk.
Last August, Dolphin Union was the lead vocalist for the music video for NewJeans' song "ETA."
The director's cut footage was posted on the company's YouTube channel. ADOR responded by raising concerns that it was an unauthorized posting. Director Shin Woo-seok
She deleted all of the videos she had uploaded to her official channel, "Pan Hee-soo Channel," and filed a criminal complaint against ADOR for defamation.
On this day, the Dolphin Union announced that director Shin Woo-seok and Min Hee-jin will be joining the group in 2023.
They claimed that the agreement had already been reached during the preview screening of the "ETA" music video, which was attended by the former CEO, Apple representatives, and everyone else.
Furthermore, "(The director's cut) is just a short piece of content added to the official music video footage that has already been released.
"It is unthinkable in the industry to take the trouble to create a written agreement," he said. "Even though an agreement has been reached between the parties, demanding a huge penalty for the lack of a written agreement is a violation of society.
At the third hearing, Min Hee Jin, CEO of ADORformer, appeared as a witness and said that director Shin Woo-seok had posted his work on his personal channel.
However, ADOR argued that Dolphin Union had posted the video without prior written consent, violating its business practices.
The company demanded partial compensation for the breach of the contract. It also asserted that "when a partner company releases a work, it is required by internal regulations that the work be shared and confirmed in advance."
Furthermore, ADOR CEO Lee Do-kyung said, "After joining the company in August, we confirmed that there were cases where work was done in violation of the contract or company regulations during the time of CEO Min Hee Jinformer.
"Min Hee Jinformer CEO and Director Shin Woo-seok claim that they are creators and do not know about the contract, but the title of creator does not mean that they do not have to comply with laws and contracts.
"This will not be an excuse for the crime," he added. The ruling in the case is scheduled to be handed down on January 13th next year.
