HyunBin and Song Yeji are both nominated for Best Leading Actress awards... The 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards are being held today

The 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards, Korea's premier film ceremony, will be held this evening (19th) at the KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul. Despite the challenging climate in the Korean film market, numerous works have shone brightly in the industry, including Park Chan-wook's 'No Other Choice', Yeon Sang-ho's 'The Face', and Woo Min-ho's 'Harbin', all of which have made audiences laugh and cry. Furthermore, a stellar line-up of male and female stars, including Lee Byung-hun, Hyun Bin, Son Ye-jin, and Park Jung-min, are scheduled to attend the ceremony, their presence set to shine brightly. All eyes are on who will take home the trophies for the highest honours: Best Picture and Best Actor/Actress.

Continuing from last year, actress Han Ji-min and actor Lee Jae-hoon will serve as MCs, leading the ceremony with even more polished hosting than the previous year. The awards ceremony will be broadcast live on KBS2.

Five films are nominated for Best Picture: "No Other Choice", "Face", "My Daughter, My Zombie", "Broken Fruit", and "Harbin", setting the stage for a fierce competition.

In the Best Director category, Min Kyu-dong for "Broken Fruit", Park Chan-wook for "It Can't Be Helped", Yeon Sang-ho for "The Face", Woo Min-ho for "Harbin", and Pil Gam-seong for "My Daughter, My Zombie" are all nominated, following their nominations in the Best Picture category. For the New Director Award, which highlights emerging talents shaping Korean cinema's future, nominees include Kim Min-ha for "Amoeba Girls and School Ghost Story: Opening Day", Kim Su-jin for "Noise", Kim Hye-young for "It's Okay, It's Okay, It's Okay!", Park Joon-ho for "3670", and Jang Byung-ki for "After Summer". These directors are drawing attention for their fresh perspectives and distinctive directing styles.

The nominees for Best Actor include Park Jung-min for "Face", Sol Kyung-gu for "The Perfect Family", Lee Byung-hun for "It's Okay", Cho Jung-suk for "My Daughter, My Zombie", and Hyun Bin for "Harbin".
The Leading Actress category sees competition between Son Ye-jin for 'It Can't Be Helped', Son Ye-jin for 'Black Nuns', Lee Jae-in for 'Hi.5', Lee Hae-young for 'Broken Fruit', and Yuna (Girls' Generation) for 'The Devil Has Moved In'.

In the Supporting Actor and Actress categories, actors possessing outstanding individuality and solid acting skills will engage in fierce competition for the trophies.

The Supporting Actor nominees are Kwon Hae-hyo for "Face", Kim Sung-chul for "Broken Fruit", Park Jung-min for "Harbin", Yoon Kyung-ho for "My Daughter, Who Became a Zombie", and Lee Sung-min for "No Other Choice".

The Supporting Actress nominees are Park Ji-hyun for "Secret Face", Shin Hyun-bin for "Face", Yum Hae-ran for “No Other Choice", Lee Jung-eun for "My Daughter, My Zombie", and Jung Yo-bin for "Black Nuns".
The Best New Actor and Actress categories, selecting the fresh faces appearing in this year's Chungmuro (cinema district), are also drawing attention.

For Best New Actor, nominees include Park Ji-young for "Hi.5", Ahn Bo-hyun for "The Devil Has Moved In", Ahn Hyo-seop for "From the Perspective of an Omniscient Reader", Jung Sung-il for "War and Chaos", and Cho Yoo-hyun for "3670".
For Best New Actress, nominees include Kim Do-yeon from "Amoeba Girls and School Ghost Story: Opening Day", Kim Min-ju (IZ*ONE) & Noh Yun-se from "Let Me Hear Your Voice", Lee Sung-bin from "Noise", and Hong Ye-ji from "The Perfect Family".
