The 16th marks the eleventh anniversary of her death. She passed away on 16th November 2014 after battling lung cancer. She was 63 years old.
Following surgery for colon cancer in 2008, the late Kim Ja-ok underwent additional anti-cancer treatment after the cancer metastasised. However, she ultimately passed away due to complications from lung cancer.
Born in 1951, the late Kim Ja-ok debuted in 1970 as part of MBC's second open talent recruitment. She appeared in dramas such as 'Temptation', 'Happiness in Our Hearts', and 'Sea of Desire'.
The late Kim Ja-ok also remained active in the 2000s, appearing in dramas such as ‘My Name is Kim Sam-soon’, ‘Coffee Prince’, ‘High Kick Through Tomorrow’, and ‘The Brothers of Magpie Bridge’.
The late Kim Jae-ok was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer in 2008, beginning a battle with the disease. She underwent surgery and received anti-cancer treatment for three years. However, she subsequently developed lung cancer, leading to a prolonged fight against illness.
Her final work was tvN's ‘Sisters Over Flowers’, broadcast in 2014. Despite her poor health at the time, she undertook the trip to honour her commitment to the production staff.
Subsequently, the late Kim Ja-ok's condition deteriorated suddenly, and she passed away on 16th November.
Meanwhile, the late Kim Ja-ok was cremated at the Memorial Park in Wonji-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, and is interred at the Memorial Park in Bundang, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do.
