South Korean Defense Minister: ”We will rebuild the military that the people can trust”... ”A national military that upholds the values of the Constitution”

South Korean Defense Minister Ahn Kyu-baek said, "North Korea's advanced nuclear and missile capabilities pose a serious threat to the security order in the region, including the Korean Peninsula."
On the 13th, Defense Minister Ahn said in his opening remarks at the “2025 Ministry of National Defense National Audit” held at the Ministry of National Defense main conference room in Seoul, “Our military will be based on a strong defense posture,
"We will do our utmost to develop into a cutting-edge, powerful military that is trusted by the people," he said.
He also emphasized, "We will rebuild the military into one that is trusted by the people by focusing on its primary mission of 'protecting the lives and safety of the people,'" and added, "We will build a national military that protects the values of the Constitution."
"I will never be dominated by the people or influenced by outside interests," he vowed.
