On the 16th, South Korean professor Kang Dong-wan of Dong-A University posted on his YouTube channel that he was using a North Korean-made
Professor Kang said, "I got the product directly from a local acquaintance in China," and added, "North Korea is essentially selling the 'Pluda' Bibimbap noodles as is."
The product package contains five pieces and features a black background with white and red lettering, reminiscent of BLUDARK-BOKKEUMMYUN.
The character resembles Samyang Foods' mascot, "Hochi." The back of the product states that it is manufactured by "Rasonryeong Ship Joint Stock Company," the country of origin is "Democratic People's Republic of Korea," and the place of production is "Sonbong, Rason City."
The product's contents are listed as 126g, its calories as 475kcal, and the cooking method is to boil it in 500ml of water.
The instructions say, "Boil the noodles in 100ml of water for 4 minutes, then drain and mix with the seasonings." It also says, "It tastes better if you add kimchi, eggs, green onions, etc." This is made in Korea.
Professor Kang said, "It is highly likely that it was produced using the OEM (original equipment manufacturer) method with the aim of exporting to China."
"It is ironic and contradictory to copy designs and trademarks and export them overseas."
