Korean film ”The Last Picnic” opens with opening footage and collaboration with Korean restaurant

The amazing human drama TV series "The Last Picnic," which has captured the hearts of all generations in Korea and broken the all-time record for hit art and independent films, will be screened at Shinjuku Musashinokan and Humanto from Friday, September 12th.
The film will be released nationwide, including at Last Cinema Yurakucho. Eun-shim returns to her hometown for the first time in 60 years and spends time with her best friend, vividly recalling her youthful memories. The turbulent lives of each character are revealed.
The story will be revealed in 2024. This amazing film, which broke the all-time record for the most successful art/independent film in Korea for the first time in five years and has captured the hearts of people of all ages, from teenagers to people in their 80s, will finally arrive in Japan.
The opening scene of the film has now been released. In addition, to commemorate the release of the film, a collaboration project with a Korean restaurant will be held. There will even be a menu that recreates the dishes that appear in the film!
This film was a huge hit, attracting 350,000 viewers and breaking the record for an independent film in five years. It tells the story of the protagonist Eun-sim (Na Moon-hee), who lives alone in Seoul.
The film opens with a rather fantastical scene. Eun-shim wakes up from her nap and calls out to a person at the window. The person watering the plants, noting the differences between them, is a woman who died early.
It was Eun-sim's mother. The person she was speaking to was Eun-sim as a child. As the two of them were smiling and talking about casual things, someone quickly passed behind Eun-sim and said,
It was her son, Hye-eun, who called out "Dad"... This sequence, which seems like a dream Eun-sim is having, is a story that begins now, and it shows the important people she will cherish throughout her life.
And who is the woman in the bright pink traditional Korean dress walking through the beautiful grassland at the beginning, admiring the grass?
This film has a unique origin in that the project's planner, the Korean actress Na Moon Hee, who had already been cast, approached director Kim Young-gyun about directing it.
Regarding the theme of this work, which depicts sexuality in a straightforward way, he said, "I had just lost my mother a few years ago, and I thought that this was a future that would come to me someday."
"It might be difficult to put such feelings into a work, but I had a gut feeling that it would make a great film, so I asked to direct it," he recalls.
In "Korean Home Cooking Chegoya," a set of Gomtang and Banchan is featured as a menu recreating the dishes that appear in the film! In the film, Eun-shim returns to the beautiful seaside town where she was born after 60 years.
There is a scene in the movie where the characters enjoy a delicious gomtang set meal at a restaurant in the town of Ino and the town of Namhae, and this is a recreation of that scene. The main dish of gomtang and the side dishes that surround the rice are also included in this scene.
