In his keynote speech, President Lee said, "Businesspeople from both countries are at the heart of US-ROK cooperation," and added, "Just as the US has contributed to Korea's rapid growth, we will continue to develop the world's best manufacturing technology."
"Korea, a country with a long history of cooperation with the United States, is the ideal partner to lead the renaissance of American manufacturing," he said.
Regarding cooperation in the shipbuilding field in particular, he said, "The two countries have been building a strong relationship since the Korean War 75 years ago, when the U.S. Navy was active.
"We share a history of victory in turning the tide of war with the help of icebreaking LNG carriers," he said, adding, "We will actively promote U.S.-Korea shipbuilding cooperation projects."
"Just as icebreakers break through the ice to open up new shipping routes, I hope that companies from both countries will go beyond existing limitations to create new markets and opportunities for cooperation," he said.
On this day, businesspeople from both countries discussed cutting-edge industries (semiconductors, AI, biotechnology), strategic industries (shipbuilding, nuclear power, defense), and supply chains.
