Metaplanet included in FTSE Japan Index...upgraded from small cap to mid cap
With Metaplanet included in major stock indexes, passive capital flows are expected to flow into the Bitcoin market, supporting the downside of BTC.
According to Cointelegraph, on the 24th (local time), Bitcoin holding company Metaplanet announced that it would be investing in the index provider FTSE Russell by the end of September 2025.
In the quarterly review, the company was upgraded from a small-cap stock to a mid-cap stock and was newly included in the leading FTSE Japan Index.
FTSE Russell adjusts its indexes quarterly, but Metaplanet, supported by strong second-quarter results, has now adjusted its indexes to the same level as Chuo University, which was listed on the Japanese exchange.
Following this, Metaplanet was automatically included in the FTSE All World Index, a global representative index that includes the top companies by market capitalization by region.
The inclusion of Metaplanet in a major global index opens a channel for funds to flow from traditional financial markets into Bitcoin, boosting its performance.
