On the 3rd, the recruitment platform, Shingakugaku Catch, surveyed 1,733 Gen Z job seekers on the topic of "the situation they most want to avoid when dining with their boss."
When asked about their working conditions, 'a boss who asks about personal matters' came in first with 50% of the respondents, followed by 'a boss who doesn't say anything' (26%) and 'a boss who only talks about work' (24%).
When asked how they feel when their boss asks them about their personal matters such as love or family, 69% of respondents answered that it is a burden. Only 18% answered that it is okay, and 13%
The most common answer was, "I don't really know." When asked the most difficult questions (multiple answers), questions related to politics (53%), such as "Who will you choose as president?", were chosen as the most common.
The second most popular question was about love and marriage (41%), such as "Are you in a relationship?", and the third most popular question was about hobbies and leisure (38%), such as "What do you do on the weekend?"
The next most common questions were religion (32%), appearance (27%), address (21%), former member school (17%), age (15%), former member region (8%), and personality/inclination (7%).
The most common reason given for being uncomfortable with such questions was that they were too personal, at 55%.
This was followed by 'feeling that there was a lack of respect' at 17%, and 'it leads to jokes and rumors'.
Reasons given included, "I thought he might be angry (11%)," "We're not close yet (11%)," and "It doesn't fit the situation or atmosphere (5%)."
