Starbucks in Gwangju, South Korea, flooded with muddy waters after record-breaking rains

Record-breaking rainfall of over 400 mm hit Gwangju in a single day, causing flood damage in various parts of the city.

In this photo, the first floor of the store is submerged in muddy water, with chairs and tables floating on the water. The water level has risen to part of the staircase.
The person who took the photo is believed to have evacuated to the second floor. The road in front of the store is also completely flooded. The photo has been viewed more than 500,000 times on X. Internet users commented, "The store staff and customers are trapped.
"I wonder what happened," "I'm glad he's safe and not injured," "I didn't expect it to rain this much," and other reactions were seen. The cumulative rainfall in Gwangju for that day was calculated to be 426.4 mm.
This far exceeds the maximum record of 335.6 mm recorded on July 25, 1989, and is the highest single-day rainfall ever recorded.
