China's social logistics total value increased 5.3% year-on-year in Jan-May: Chinese report

According to the latest data released by the China Logistics Purchasing Federation on the 29th, the total value of social logistics in China in the first five months of this year was 138.7 trillion former (about 2781 trillion yen), up 5.3% from the same period last year.
Driven by the upgrading of industry and the implementation of various policies, logistics demand for industrial products maintained an upward trend in May, of which the contribution rate of the equipment manufacturing industry to the increase in logistics demand exceeded 50%.
In addition, logistics demand in the automobile manufacturing, computer and communication equipment manufacturing, and other electronic equipment manufacturing industries exceeded 10%.
The volume of goods transported to businesses and individuals increased by 6.4% in the first five months of the year, a 1.3% increase from the first five months of the year.
This was an increase of 0.5 percentage points. New forms of consumption such as "instant retail" grew, and online retail sales of physical goods increased by 6.3% year-on-year.
Meanwhile, total revenue from the logistics industry in the first five months of the year increased 4.2% to 5.6 trillion yen (approximately 112.3 trillion yen).
The size of the logistics market is expanding steadily.
