Road collapses on heavy rainy day... Man falls into 2m deep hole in front of his family (South Korea)

A road collapse occurred in Namwon City, North Jeolla Province, and a pedestrian in his 40s fell into the hole and was injured. The man had just finished dinner with his family and was going outside.
However, he was involved in this accident in front of his wife and son, but was able to escape with the help of a local citizen.
According to the JoongAng Ilbo on the 23rd, at around 6:12 pm on the 21st, a 2m wide, deep hole was found on the sidewalk in Namwon City.
A hole of about 1.5 meters was created. At the time, Mr. A, a man in his 40s who lives in Jeonju, was visiting his parents' home in Namwon City with his wife and their son, who is in the fourth grade of elementary school, to celebrate his father's birthday.
Mr. A said, "It was raining, so I put my parents in a car parked in an alleyway near a restaurant, and while I was walking toward my son and wife, the road suddenly collapsed and I fell into a hole.
"If I had been a few minutes slower, my wife and son might have fallen in," he said. Mr. A, who was standing on the sidewalk, fell into the hole without being able to do anything.
His wife and son, who were nearby, were safe, but the sidewalk leading up to the accident was tilted, making it difficult for him to move and he could only kick his legs.
Mr. A, who is 185 cm tall, could barely reach the hole by standing and stretching his arms out. At the time, a heavy rain special warning was issued for Namwon City.
It was a tense situation, with muddy water and earth and sand flowing into the hole. A was rescued from the hole, which was too deep for a person to escape from on their own, by a man in his 50s whom he had never met before. This man was walking towards the side of the road.
The man reached his hand into the hole, and Mr. A grabbed his hand and managed to climb up to a wall that appeared to be on sturdy ground, and was finally able to get out to the surface.
Immediately after the accident, Mr. A was taken to the hospital by ambulance and underwent stitches for injuries to part of his left leg.
A said, "At the hospital, I was told that A was tall and well-built, so he was fine, but if he had been shorter or the hole had been even 0.5 to 1 meter deeper and he had fallen on his head, he could have been seriously injured or his life could have been in danger.
I was told that it could have been dangerous," he said, feeling relieved that the situation could have led to a major accident.
