The special prosecutor's office will take over the case that the police were investigating on the 26th, and police personnel will arrive to work for the special prosecutor on the same day.
The special investigation team also discussed the direction of the investigation, including the transfer of investigation materials between the prosecution and the special investigation team, and whether or not to secure the custody of suspects.
In particular, a police official said, "We discussed the warrant for the property with the prosecution and the warrant for the person with the special prosecutor." The police are currently investigating the matter, with former Chief of the Security Service Park Jong-jun and former Chief of Police Kim Sung-hoon as the investigation team.
The government has not yet decided whether to refer the cases of Deputy Chief of Security Lee Kwang-woo, former Chief of the Security Headquarters, and others to the prosecution, and instead plans to hand them all over to the special prosecutor.
Meanwhile, the special police investigation team has recently investigated the case of State Councilors suspected of participating in a rebellion.
The investigation is in the final stages, with former Minister of Justice Park Seong-je and former Director of the National Intelligence Service Cho Tae-Yeon being summoned for questioning.
