BLACKPINK's JISOO's screen debut is approaching... Can she overcome the ”acting ability issue”?

JISOO of the Korean girl group BLACKPINK is set to make her big screen debut through "From the Viewpoint of an Omniscient Reader."
JISOO first tried her hand at acting in the TV series "Snowdrop".
She will co-star with actor Park Jung Min in Play's new TV series "Newtopia" and in the Netflix series "Boyfriend of the Month."
He has also chosen "From the Perspective of an Omniscient Reader" as his next project. Although he has appeared in the film "Possession", he will make a special appearance and finally make his screen debut through "From the Perspective of an Omniscient Reader".
The story is about a novel that has been serialized for over 10 years, but on the day it is completed, the secular world of the novel becomes reality, and the only reader, Kim Deok-ja, becomes the protagonist of the novel, Yoo Jun-hee.
It is a fantasy action movie about a high school boy who calls Yoo Jun-hyuk (played by Lee Min-ho) his master and follows him, along with his friends, in a post-apocalyptic world.
She plays the role of Lee Ji Hye, a character who believes that the easiest and fairest way to survive is for each person to think of their own way to survive, and that only the strong can survive in this changed world.
Lee Ji Hye, who has a difficult past, believes that in order to survive, she needs to become stronger, and is united with her friends to fight.
In the stills and teaser released, JISOO is holding a rifle, raising expectations for the action she will unleash.
Director Kim Byung-woo, who directed the film, said, "I wanted to work with someone who can work hard," and added, "I saw a lot of enthusiasm when we first met, and I was impressed by how hard he worked during the reading and on set."
He continued, "Lee Ji Hye doesn't have many scenes," and added, "So I wanted an actor who could capture the attention for a little while to play her."
He added, "She acted with all her heart," and added, "The results were great, so I'm very satisfied."
Since director Kim Byung-woo of JISOO expressed his satisfaction with the film, attention is focused on whether the film will receive a passing grade. "From the Point of View of an Omniscient Reader" will be released in Korea on July 23rd.
