YouTuber "Taldeok (Anti-otaku) Camp," who slandered IVE member Jang Won Young, has lost a lawsuit seeking damages.
According to the legal community on the 4th, the Seoul Central District Court (Civil 50 Exclusive) decided to suspend the operation of the YouTube channel "Daldeok Detention Center" by STARSHIP Entertainment.
The court ruled in favor of the plaintiff in a lawsuit for damages filed against a person named A. As a result, A is required to pay 50 million won (approximately 5 million yen) in compensation to Starship Entertainment.
The court said, "The defendant's act of producing and posting the video is sufficient to tarnish the plaintiff's reputation and credibility, undermine his social standing, and disrupt his business."
Prior to this, since 2021, Mr. A has been slandering Jang Won Young and spreading false facts through his YouTube channel.
He is famous for posting videos that slander stars such as Jang Won Young and earning hundreds of millions of won in profits.
Starship Entertainment requested personal information from Google, which is headquartered overseas, four times, and was finally able to obtain Mr. A's information.
Jang Won Young announced that he would take legal action and filed a lawsuit against Mr. A for damages.
In response, the court ruled in January that A must pay 50 million won to Jang Won Young. A is also the director of Jang Won Young and Starship Entertainment.
In February, the company also filed suit against V and JUNG KOOK of "BTS", as well as BIGHIT of the management office.
In a lawsuit filed by MUSIC against a person named A for damages, the court ordered A to pay 76 million won, which was then appealed.
