The First Criminal Division of the Korean National Assembly exclusively reported that Mr. A, who claimed to be acting on behalf of Shim Eun Ha, was sentenced to two years and six months in prison with four years of probation.
Previously, production company BY4M Studio announced that they would sign a contract with Shim Eun Ha in 2023 for a contract fee of 1.5 billion won (approximately 100 million won).
The agency announced Shim Eun Ha's return by saying, "She has received a bonus of JPY 50 million from the director," and "Her goal is to decide on and produce her comeback work this year."
However, Shim Eun Ha's side dismissed the allegations as "groundless."
According to our media, both Shim Eun Ha and the production company were victims. It was an exclusive scam perpetrated by Mr. A.
In the first trial, the court ruled, "Mr. A stole a huge amount of money from the victim company (BY4M). In the process, he forged a power of attorney and a performance contract in the name of Shim Eun Ha, a famous actress."
He added, "After each crime, they created a substitute for Shim Eun Ha and made it look like Shim Eun Ha was actually returning to the entertainment industry, so the crimes are extremely heinous and the guilt is heavy."
He continued, "Both the victim company and Shim Eun Ha hope that Mr. A will be punished," but added, "He has admitted to all of his crimes and is remorseful, and the victim
"We are taking into consideration the fact that he has paid back the full 1.65 billion won to the offending company and that he has no prior convictions for a similar offense or fine that exceeds that amount," they added.
Neither the prosecutor nor Mr. A appealed the first-instance ruling, and the ruling has now been finalized.
