A South Korean Navy P-3C took off from Pohang Air Base at around 1:43 p.m. that day for takeoff and landing training, and crashed just six minutes later at around 1:49 p.m.
The Navy confirmed the body of the four crew members and began to deal with the situation. The cause of the accident has not yet been determined.
The crashed P-3C had four people on board: the pilot, co-pilot, and two tactical crew members. The P-3C is a "submarine killer" developed by Lockheed Martin.
Since the December 3 emergency martial law imposed by former President Yoon Seok-yeol in South Korea, several major accidents have occurred in the army and air force.
