The 2025 MAMA AWARDS will be held in Hong Kong for the first time in seven years since 2018.
They will be returning to Hong Kong, home of the "K-POP AWARDS" and a major market for K-POP performances.
"MAMA" was launched in 1999 as "Mnet Video Music Awards".
The "K-POP AWARDS" was held in various regions such as Macau, Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Japan, and led the globalization of K-POP.
With the growth of the Korean music industry, the Mnet ASIAN MUSIC AWARDS was rebranded as the MAMA AWARDS, and last year was the first K-POP awards ceremony to hold the awards.
The MAMA was held for the first time in the United States, the world's number one music market, and fans from all over the world were entertained by a live relay broadcast that connected from Los Angeles, USA to Osaka, Japan.
This year, the "AWARDS" will visit Greater China for the first time in a long while, and will be adding another page to the page. The scale will be about four times larger. It will become a new landmark in Hong Kong.
As the event will be held in a mega stadium, it is expected that there will be a large number of iconic scenes that demonstrate unique stages and differentiated directing skills.
The Hong Kong Kai Tak Stadium is a large stadium that opened in March this year and can accommodate up to 50,000 people.
The 5 MAMA AWARDS will be broadcasted live in real time on various digital platforms, and will be an awards ceremony that transcends offline and is created together with K-POP fans around the world.
CJ ENM is set to hold a global K-POP school that will bring together the know-how, stage technology, and content capabilities of the global music business that it has accumulated over the past 30 years.
CJ ENM's Shin Hyung-kwan, head of the music content business division, said, "We are honored to have artists who have led the K-pop trend for the past year and shown outstanding performances.
"We will do our best to put the spotlight on artists and industry professionals and to demonstrate K-pop's global competitiveness and status," he said. "We hope many people will look forward to it.
"The MAMA AWARDS will deliver iconic moments that combine creative stage direction and technical skill that are unique to the event."
Global payment technology company Visa has been the exclusive sponsor of the "Ice Cream Pie AWARDS" for three years and has been the title sponsor since last year.
