China's April home prices flat or slightly down from previous month: Chinese report
The National Bureau of Statistics recently released China's housing price trends for April, showing that housing prices in 70 major cities remained stable or slightly declined compared to the previous month.
New home prices in first-tier cities remained flat compared to the previous month. Beijing increased 0.1%,
Shanghai and Shanghai rose 0.5%, Guangzhou fell 0.2%, and Shenzhen fell 0.1%. Second-hand home prices in first-tier cities fell 0.2%. Shanghai rose 0.1%, Guangzhou fell 0.2%, and Shenzhen fell 0.1%.
In second-tier cities, new home prices remained stable, while second-tier city prices fell 0.4%, a 0.2 percentage point increase from the previous month.
New home prices in third-tier cities fell 0.2%, the same rate of decline as the previous month. Used home prices fell 0.4%, an increase of 0.1 percentage points from the previous month.
On the other hand, when looking at housing prices in each city compared to the same month last year, new housing prices in "first-tier cities" fell 2.1% compared to the same month last year, a decrease of 0.7 percentage points from the previous month.
"Tier 2 cities" fell 3.9%, a 0.5 percentage point reduction in the decline, while "Tier 3 cities" fell 5.4%, a 0.3 percentage point reduction in the decline.
Additionally, second-hand home prices in first-tier cities fell 3.2%, a 0.9 percentage point decrease from the previous month.
"Tier 3 cities" fell 7.4%, a 0.4 percentage point decline.
