The movie ”Yadan” has a thrilling hit... It beats Marble and Mably to become the top-selling movie during the holidays.

The film "Yadang" (directed by Hwang Byung-guk), starring actors Yoo Hae-jin, Kang Ha-Neul, and Park Hae-joon, will be released on the big screen during the May holidays, overcoming the juvenile-rated (19+) barrier.
According to the Korean Film Council on the 7th, the movie "Yadang" attracted 913,915 viewers from the 30th to the 6th of last month, taking the top spot at the box office.
This is an overwhelming difference compared to "Thunderbolts" (645,582 viewers), which also attracted 50% off. The film will be shown at half price on "Culture Day" from April 30th, followed by Labor Day and Children's Day.
During the six-day holiday, major theaters will be showing five hot topics from Korea and abroad, including "Yadang," "Holy Night: Demon Hunters," "Broken Fruit," "Thunderbolts," and "The Minecraft Movie."
The competition was fierce. "Yadan," which captivated theaters over the holiday period, is a crime film about a broker who sells information on drug offenders to investigative agencies.
Since its release, it has maintained the number one spot at the box office, but with the holidays coming up and a flurry of new releases, it was expected that it would lose its throne.
In fact, on the 30th of last month, when "Holy Night," "Thunderbolts," and "Broken Fruit" were released at the same time, "Yadang"
However, it regained the top spot on the 1st of this month and maintained its position until the 4th. On the 5th, which was Children's Day, the drama "Mine" was aired, targeting family audiences.
"Yadan" has now surpassed the break-even point (2.5 million) with a total of 2.67 million viewers.
It has become the biggest hit Korean film released this year, beating out "My Love from the Stars 2" (2,547,448 viewers). Film critic Jeong Ji-wook commented, "The high ratings from the audience and the excellent performances of the actors are the main reasons for the success of this film.
