President Yoon Seok-you welcomed the Japanese parliamentarians who paid a courtesy visit to the Oval Office in Yongsan, Seoul this afternoon.
President Yoon Seok-you said, "Despite the difficulty of Japan-Korea relations, the main personnel of the Japan-Korea Parliamentary Union, including Chairman Fukushiro Nukaga, will come and help improve the relations between the two countries. The two countries are their closest neighbors and important cooperating partners who share liberal democratic values and a market economy."
He continued, "This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Japan-Korea Parliamentary Union. There were times when the relationship between the two countries was difficult, but each time the Japan-Korea Parliamentary Union and the Parliamentary Friendship Association played an important role." he said. "I ask for your active support at the Japanese parliamentary level so that Japan-Korea relations can continue to develop safely."
