"Prices soaring" such as ramen in service areas = Korea
In South Korea, food sold at highway service areas across the country has soared over the course of the year. Ramen has seen the most price increases, with prices of other popular items rising all at once.

According to data obtained from the Korea Expressway Corporation by Rep. Kim Soo-hong, a member of the Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Committee of the South Korean National Assembly, as of May this year, the prices of the top 10 sales areas in the service area increased by an average of 5.4% compared to a year ago.

Among them, the average price of ramen jumped 12.1% from 3,940 won in May last year to 4,415 won last month.

"Rising prices are only increasing the burden on ordinary people" said Rep. Kim.
