Five dead after car falls from floating bridge road in China's Hubei province
Five people died when a wagon car that was running on the floating bridge road, a popular tourist spot in Hubei Province, China, fell into a river.

On May 16th, a wagon carrying eight people fell from a floating bridge in the Shishiguan tourist area in Xu'en County, Hubei Province's Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture.

A video posted online shows the wagon crashing through a protective barrier on the side of the floating bridge and falling into the river. At first, the rear tire of the car was stuck on the floating bridge, but then it completely sank into the river.

Three of the eight people who were rescued first were taken to hospital and were being treated, but five people who were rescued later were confirmed dead on the spot.

"Since opening in 2016, we haven't had a single accident," said the head of the tourist area in a recent media interview.

The tourist area is currently closed due to safety hazards.
