Two global icons have joined forces: girl group NewJeans and Japanese pop artist Takashi Murakami.
"NewJeans" posted a "Right" link to the HYBE LABELS YouTube channel at midnight on the 1st.
A teaser video for the music video for "Right Now" has been released.
"Now" is one of the songs on the record for their Japanese debut single "Supernatural" which will be released on June 21st.
The teaser video begins with the "New Jeans x Powerpuff Girls" characters seen in the album "Get Up."
The five members go out in search of a love elixir and discover a "rainbow flower" that gives them supernatural powers.
During the process, a mysterious error causes the two worlds to collide and characters from "NewJeans x Murakami Takashi" appear.
Takashi Murakami, a beloved contemporary and pop artist in Japan, has used his unique and eccentric artwork and his signature flower characters to transform fashion.
He has collaborated with global pop stars such as Billie Eilish as well as various other brands.
"NewJeans" said, "We broke the mold of K-POP and presented a new standard.
"There's a lot of interest in the combination of NewJeans and the ever-changing Takashi Murakami," he said, adding, "Murakami has made it clear in interviews that he is a fan of NewJeans.
The fact that Takashi will be participating in New Jeans' Japanese debut album makes it even more special."
Meanwhile, NewJeans' Japanese debut single "Supernatural" includes the title track of the same name.
A total of four songs will be recorded, including "Supernatural," the recorded song "Right Now," and instrumentals of each song.
