tvN Saturday and Sunday drama "Queen of Tears," starring actors Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won, continues to march high in popularity amid skyrocketing viewership ratings.

According to Nielsen Korea, a rating agency, the ratings for "Queen of Tears," which aired on the 14th, rose to 20.7% of the national paid household standard and 23.2% of the metropolitan standard. The ratings for "Queen of Tears," which has been on a continuous upward trend, has now surpassed the 20% barrier and is breaking its own record on a daily basis. After the broadcast, the show has been flooded with comments and reactions from various online communities, and has even become the talk of the town.

It has also surpassed tvN's previous record of "Dokkebi~You Gave Me My Beloved Days~," which had the second-highest viewership ratings in tvN's history. Currently, "Love's Emergency Landing" is holding the top spot in tvN's all-time viewership ratings with 21.7%, and if this trend continues, there is a strong possibility that "Queen of Tears," which has four episodes remaining, will surpass this record. Love's Emergency Landing" stars Song Ye-jin and Hyun-bin, who actually became a married couple after filming the movie, and was written by "Queen of Tears" screenwriter Park Jee-woong.

'Queen of Tears' tells the story of Hong Hye-in (played by Kim Ji-won), the third generation of the Queen's Group conglomerate and queen of a department store, and Baek Hyun-woo (played by Kim Soo-hyun), the son of the village head of Yongdu, a supermarket prince, and their three-year marriage crisis and their miraculous love story that begins again. The work attracted a lot of attention even before it aired, and the actors' passionate performances, visuals and chemistry, and dramatic developments were cited as the reasons for its popularity.

In the 12th episode aired on the 14th, Baek Hyun-woo asked for an annulment of the divorce even as Hong Hye-in's condition worsened, and the two confirmed their true feelings for each other. Against this backdrop, Chairman Hong Man-dae (played by Kim Gap-soo) made an extreme choice to strip Mo Seul-hui (played by Lee Mi-suk) of her acting authority and prevent the mother and son from discovering the location of the secret funds.

Hong Hye-in gave Hong Man-dae a pen that could record before his death, and the drama ended when Baek Hyun-woo and other members of the Queen's family succeeded in entering the secret space in Queenstown where the secret funds were presumed to be hidden. All eyes are on the "Queen of Tears" to see how far her record will jump as they try to find Hong Mandae's last legacy.

Meanwhile, the 13th episode of "Queen of Tears" will air at 9:20 p.m. on the 20th.
