They were originally scheduled to debut as I.OI, but in August of the same year, Somi left JYP, and Yuna, who was a candidate for the junior group NMIXX, joined, and they debuted with the current lineup.
Episodes/Anecdotes: In 2013, Chaeryeong and her sister Chae Young (former IZONE) joined JYP as trainees through the audition program "K-POP Star 3."
In 2015, Chaeryeong appeared on JYP's audition program "SIXTEEN," the same program that gave birth to TWICE, with her sister Chae Young, but was unsuccessful.
In 2017, RYUJIN was selected for the girls' debut team on YG's audition program "MIXNINE," but the selection was suddenly scrapped.
On January 21, 2019, the group name "ITZY" was announced, along with the five members. On September 18, 2023, it was announced that member Leah would be taking a break from activities.
On January 8, 2024, the band released their second album, "BORN TO BE." Leah, who had announced that she was taking a break, was not included.
