The North Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs posted the above statement on its website on the same day in a statement titled, "Human rights are not a means to achieve political goals."

"They are turning a blind eye to the reality of what is happening to them," he said. This is in response to criticism of human rights, such as the passage of the "North Korea Human Rights Resolution" by a committee under the UN General Assembly.
The Third Committee of the UN General Assembly, which is responsible for human rights issues, passed the North Korean Human Rights Resolution on the 19th of last month, condemning North Korea's systematic and widespread human rights violations.
The committee has been adopting resolutions with the same content for 21 years since 2005.
