The Netflix film "The Flood," which has been getting a lot of attention due to its popularity, has released its main poster. The film depicts the final day of the flood that hits the Earth, and the people who are pinning their last hope for the survival of humanity.
It is a sci-fi disaster blockbuster that depicts a life-or-death struggle unfolding in a flooded apartment building. The main poster that has been released shows K. who witnesses the huge water rushing in on the stairs of the apartment building.
Kim Da Mi plays Anna, an AI researcher and humanity's last hope, climbing an endless staircase to escape the increasingly violent force of the water.
The mysterious orange particles coming down from the top of the stairs show Anna's situation where she must make a choice to save humanity in the midst of an unprecedented disaster known as the "Great Flood."
The film focuses on the choices the woman will make in the face of this crisis. The film depicts the everyday space of an apartment building being hit by an unavoidable disaster, a "great flood," and the everyday life of the woman being constantly on the brink of disaster.
The film's realism of the combination of these two characters adds to the immersive nature of the story. Another highlight of the film is the passionate performance of Kim Da Mi, who once again transforms into Anna, a woman forced to make a choice for humanity.
Furthermore, director Kim Byung-woo, who took on the role of director, said, "Water is the devil's water when it comes to disasters, but it is also the source of life. And if you want to visually express human emotions, you need a huge, swaying water."
As he revealed, "I thought it was a wave," the film aims to tease the various meanings that the disaster of a great flood can have.
It will be available to watch on Netflix on December 19th.
