Shinsa Japan supports Korean brands in Japan. In 1999, Ikeda became a product management manager at Nike Japan, and then became a brand director.
He then served as president of Oakley Japan, Boss Japan, and Cath Kidston Japan. He led product planning and business development for many global brands, and has been with the company for over 20 years.
He served as the representative of Dr. Martens Japan from 2020 to the first half of 2025. Musinsa currently sells approximately 3,000 brands through its online store, the Musinsa Global Store.
The shop's transaction volume in Japan increased 120% in the July-September period of 2025 compared to the same period last year, and grew five times in October compared to the same month last year.
A Mushinsa official said, "Japan is a region that plays a central role in Mushinsa's strategy to enter the global market. With the addition of CEO Mike Ikeda, who is familiar with the local market, we will be able to promote Korean designers in Japan.
"We will focus on expanding the brand's distribution network and growing our online and brick-and-mortar business."
