G-DRAGON took to the stage at the welcome banquet for the APEC Summit, held on October 31st at the Grand Ballroom of the Lahan Hotel in Gyeongju City, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, under the theme 'Journey of Butterfly: Together, We Fly'.
G-DRAGON, who also served as an APEC public relations ambassador, performed three songs: ‘POWER’, ‘DORAMA’ and ‘HOME SWEET HOME’. During the performance of ‘POWER’, he attracted attention by appearing wearing a "kassako" hat, which became a talking point in the Netflix animated film KPOP Girls! Demon Hunters, currently a global hit.
As G-DRAGON performed on stage, leaders from various countries, including Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, Foreign Minister Albert Van Craven, and Mrs. Tinanon Niramit, wife of Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, took out their smartphones to take photos, showing their interest in his performance.
In addition to G-DRAGON, dancers HONEY J and Leejung, 11-year-old violinist Kim Yuna, beatboxer Wing, and a children's choir also participated in the stage performance.
This performance was structured in three acts connecting past, present, and future. It began with the glorious history of Silla, progressed to the present of K-Culture, and concluded with a future vision symbolised by AI and robotics technology. Through this, it expressed the message of "a sustainable tomorrow we create" using Korean culture and technology, even in an era of heightened uncertainty.
