”Sell your organs”... YouTuber kidnapped and assaulted by used car dealer (South Korea)
Details have emerged about the kidnapping and attempted murder of popular gaming YouTuber "Stak," who has 1 million subscribers, in a parking lot in his Incheon neighborhood.
According to JTBC's "Case Leader" on the 30th, Suk was kidnapped by two men in their 20s and 30s, including suspect A, at around 10:40 pm on the 26th in the underground parking lot of his home in Songdo, Incheon.
The suspects attacked and kidnapped Stak in his car parked in a parking lot, hitting him in the face with a blunt object and continuing to assault him for two hours.
Stak suffered serious injuries, including a fractured eye socket, bruises to his abdomen and shoulder, and broken fingers, and is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Suspect A is a used car dealer, and after Suk leased a car through Suspect A in February of this year, problems arose in the process of replacing it with a new car.
Even after sending the car to the suspect, he continued to be charged for the lease fee, unpaid tolls, and fines, and trouble arose when Stak demanded his car and money back.
Suspect A then sent the address of a deserted rural village, inviting Stak to come there if he wanted to receive the money.
When he refused, judging it to be dangerous, the suspect changed the location to the parking lot of an apartment building and committed the crime there. Mr. Stak's legal representative said, "Mr. Stak thought it was suspicious and did not get into (Suspect A's car)
"At that time, I sensed something was wrong and called the police. When suspect A and his associates learned that someone had called the police, they took out a string and strangled Mr. Stack.
He added, "On the way, one of them drove while the other hit him in the face in the back seat," adding, "The suspects said, 'It would be better if we killed you. It would be better if you died and sold your organs.'
When I told him I had several hundred million won (approximately tens of millions of yen) in money, he said, 'If I had that much money, I'd rather die,'" he added.
Stak tried to escape by pretending to faint, but was caught and beaten for two hours.
After being arrested, he was dramatically rescued by police who responded to a report. Incheon Yeonsu Police Station arrested two suspects, including A, on charges of attempted murder and joint confinement, and the court ruled that "there was a risk of escape."
On the 29th, an arrest warrant was issued for him. Mr. Suk has been active as a game host on "Sp" (formerly Afreeca TV) since 2013, and the following year he opened a YouTube channel and began appearing on games.
He has gained recognition as a YouTuber, and currently has about 1 million subscribers.
