”i-dle” music video starring Soyeon accused of plagiarism... French singer sues, expresses displeasure and says it's ”infuriating”

A music video (MV) by R.Tee, a music producer and DJ, has been embroiled in a plagiarism scandal.
Recently, French singer Yseult posted on social media that R.Tee's "DAMDADI" music video was similar to his own song "BITCH YOU"
"DAMDADI" is a song released by R.Tee in August this year.
Soyeon sang and starred in the music video, which was directed by Hong Min-ho. Yseult's song and music video were released about a year before "DAMDADI."
The music videos for both songs feature people suddenly appearing and causing a commotion in an office space where office workers are working.
Yseult posted a specific video of a similar scene, saying, "This kind of copycat stuff is ridiculous.
"It's infuriating," he said, expressing his displeasure. As soon as the affair escalated, director Hong Min-ho took to social media to clarify his position.
Director Hong, who posted a statement, said, "I was inspired by Yseult's work and her directing style.
He continued, "I have always had a deep respect for Yseult and the directors she has worked with, and that respect has been a constant throughout the project.
So, naturally, it influenced a lot of visual ideas,” Director Hong explained. He then said, “I sincerely apologize for the fact that some scenes are directly similar to her original work.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused to Yseult and her team.
"The artists Soyeon and R.Tee were not involved in the creative direction or reference selection process at all.
"We were unable to inform you in advance about the work that was done, which also took into account the specific directorial intentions of the video," he emphasized.
Meanwhile, after Director Hong announced his position, Yseult said, "I appreciate the words (about showing respect), but this is not inspiration.
"This is about plagiarism, not slander," he added, demanding that the credits be corrected. R.Tee's management office has not issued a separate statement.
