Yangtze River Delta region contributes 58% of national import and export growth: Chinese report

According to statistics recently released by the General Administration of Customs, the import and export volume of the Yangtze River Delta region from January to August this year was 11.7 trillion former (approximately 237 trillion yen), up 5.5% from the same period last year.
It accounted for 37.4% of the total imports and exports, and contributed 58% to the increase in national imports and exports. In terms of export items, industrial robots increased by 60.8% and high-end machine tools increased by 26.8%.
Among imported items, computer parts increased by 35.6% and aircraft parts by 46%. An official from the General Administration of Customs said, "In recent years, the Yangtze River Delta region has developed its innovative capabilities and energy development.
During the same period, the growth rate of imports and exports in the Yangtze River Delta region exceeded that of the whole country by 2 percentage points, and the national import and export growth rate increased by 1.2 percentage points.
The proportion of the total amount increased by 0.7 points from the same period last year.
