The funeral for the late Jung YOO SUN was held at 6 a.m. on the 28th at the Asan Hospital funeral hall in Seoul.
The opening and closing ceremonies were led by Kim Hak-rae, president of the Korea Broadcasting Comedy Association. The deceased's junior colleague Lee Hong-ryul and his student Kim Shin-young read the eulogy.
After the funeral procession, a ceremony was held at the KBS Public Hall in Seoul, the recording venue for KBS2's Gag Concert.
Many juniors, including Moo Hee-seok, Jo Se-ho, and Kim Soo-yeon, were also present. Park Jun-hyung, who hosted the event, said, "We would like to express our gratitude to Jung, who created a workplace that will be the foundation of our lives for the rest of our lives.
"This is the final stage for senior YOO SUN as he departs as a deceased person," he said, adding, "I feel honored to be able to see him off, and I will say my final words of respect."
The deceased was an early member of KBS's Gag Concert, which began airing in 1999. Park Jun-hyung said, "The history of the first Gag Concert of my senior began here.
"We have continued this for over 1,000 times," he said, "and I think we should carry on the will of our predecessors and bring laughter to all the people of Korea," he said, as everyone applauded and remembered the deceased.
At the funeral, Kim Jong-ryul performed "Seungri Dandan," which was the deceased's favorite song. At the funeral, Choi Yang-rak said, "I want to say to my brother,
"My brother is Hong,' I said, 'I hope we can work together,'" he said, to which many comedians shouted out, "It's Bon!"
