Ro Woon, Shin Ye Eun, and Park So Ham's amazing visual collaboration ”Muddy Stream”
Fashion magazine "Harper's BAZAAR" KOREA will be releasing Disney+'s first original period drama series "Muduri" on September 26th.
The drama is set in the Joseon dynasty and tells the story of a man who turns a murky world upside down to live like a human being.
When asked what attracted him to this work, Ro Woon said, "The character of 'Jang Si-yul' felt very strong.
I felt that I had to do it. He continued, "The coach told me in a meeting, 'I'm going to take away your greatest weapon.' I also had a wall that I wanted to break down, and that was exactly what I wanted to do.
I hope that everyone who watches this film will be able to feel the charm of Cha Si-yul himself, not just Ro Woon."
As the youngest daughter of the largest merchant group in Korea, Ji expressed her strong desire to do business.
Shin Ye Eun, who played the role of Ye Eun, said, "It was a time when it was difficult for women to freely express their opinions. So when she spoke or acted independently, it wasn't because she was particular about her opinion, but because she was a woman.
I wanted to portray Choi Woong's confidence and self-assurance. Unlike previous historical dramas, I wanted to portray a character with a sense of weight, so I paid special attention to the tone and the pitch of his speech.
Park So-ham, who is taking on a period drama for the first time since being discharged from the military, said, "'Muddy Stream' is a project that I just wanted to do.
When I met the director, I said, "If there are 50 billion stairs in front of me, my goal is to grow even just one step."
Regarding the rookie officer, Jeong Jeong, he said, "I'm similar to him in that I'm quiet, but Jeong Jeong is much more open about his feelings. The challenge was to portray his rigid personality and the changes in his emotions in a sensitive way."
I had to learn horse riding and action scenes, and I spent most of my time at an action school," he said, explaining the process he went through to portray the character.
The reason why there was constant laughter on set was because of the chemistry between the three of them. They had been working together as comrades on set for a long time. Ro Woon responded, "Because
Everyone really worked hard. I'm proud of that. When filming finished, I told the director that I felt I had done the best I could as a 28-year-old and had no regrets. Ye Eun and Seo Hak
Park So-ham also said, "I always wear period costumes on set, so it's great to see me in such a good look for a photoshoot.
It was awkward. (laughs) Seok-gu gave me over 100 emotions on set. One early summer night, we sat in a convenience store drinking beer and talking about the film. Ye Eun was very considerate.
He also expressed his gratitude to the two, saying, "They were very kind to me and were always the first to suggest on set, 'Shall we try matching our lines?'"
Finally, the characters in "Muddy Current" each face the world in their own way and carve out their own destiny.
When asked if the actors had done anything to reverse their destinies or situations, Ro Woon replied, "I read a lot of books on psychology and philosophy. I went through some tough times, but I learned a lot from books."
I started doing absolutely anything. Through that time, I gained the determination to realize that if I really want something, I can achieve it. I want to continue acting for a long time, and later, I want to become a Hollywood actress.
In response to the same question, Shin Ye Eun said, "It may not be a lofty thing, but when you are faced with change and you make a decision,
I don't regret it or look back on it. Even if it was wrong, I can just try to move in the right direction again. I believe in the power of 'persistence'." Park So-ham then said,
I believe that people are constantly changing and that not a single moment of all the activities I have done has been wasted. In the end, I just want to do my best with what I have been given without regretting the past.
I intend to prepare for the future with a more positive attitude than ever before," he said.
