Global cryptocurrency exchange Binance announced on the 11th that it has partnered with global investment firm Franklin Templeton to build digital asset initiative solutions.
The two companies plan to combine Franklin Templeton's securities tokenization technology with Binance's trading and investor infrastructure.
Sandy Kaul, Vice President of Franklin Templeton Advanced, said, "Blockchain threatens existing systems.
"It's an opportunity to redesign the system, not the technology," he said, adding, "We want to bring institutional solutions like our Benji Technology Platform to more investors and create a more seamless transition from traditional finance to the financial services industry."
"It will be a bridge to decentralized finance (DeFi)," said Roger Bason, vice president of digital assets at Franklin Templeton.
"The move will achieve significant efficiencies in payments, collateral management and portfolio construction."
