Today (11th), Seoul Central District Court, Civil Division 41 (Judge Jeong Feil, Chief Judge)
The judge will hold the second mediation session for the lawsuit to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract filed by ADOR against NewJeans.
At the first arbitration held on the 14th of last month, Minzy and Daniel represented the group.
At the time, when reporters asked about the possibility of mediation before and after they entered the courtroom, they simply replied, "We're sorry," and didn't say much.
The mediation proceedings were held behind closed doors for approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes with the attorneys of both parties, but the parties ultimately failed to reach an agreement, and a second round of mediation was held today.
A stay date has been set: if the two sides ultimately fail to reach a settlement, the court will issue a ruling on October 30th.
ADOR confirmed the validity of the exclusive contract, stating that NewJeans unilaterally terminated the contract in December last year.
ADOR has filed a lawsuit against Min Hee Jinformer, CEO of NewJeans, arguing that there was no legitimate reason for the termination of the contract.
They claim that the relationship of trust has been broken. In the midst of this, the court supported the argument of "ADOR" in regards to the provisional injunction that "ADOR" filed to ban independent activities.
"New Jeans" appealed the decision, but was not accepted. As a result, "New Jeans" was no longer allowed to engage in entertainment activities without the prior approval or consent of "ADOR."
It is no longer possible to do this.
