A spokesperson for the party founded by Cao Guo has left the party, accusing it of sexual misconduct and harassment.

On the 4th, a major shock hit the opposition Fatherland Reform Party, which was founded by former South Korean Justice Minister Cho Kuk, also known as "Onion Man," and for which he serves as chairman of the Reform Policy Research Committee.
Kang Mi-jung, a spokesperson for the party, held a press conference at the National Assembly Communication Center in Seoul on the same day, announcing, "I am leaving the Fatherland Reform Party today."
"Today is the day when the prosecutorial reform hearing is to be held. However, instead of attending the hearing, I am here at this press conference to talk about the cruel reality," Kang said.
"One of the victims of sexual harassment and harassment cases within the party left the party last month," Kang said. "Se Jeong, who had been calling for party renewal in relation to this case,
The city party chairman was expelled on the 1st of last month. Three steering committee members who were alleged to have assisted the city party chairman were also disciplined."
Kang said, "Those who helped the victim were disciplined for 'violating the dignity of party officials' and were given time off for several days.
"She submitted her resignation before the election. Other victims are also currently preparing to resign," he said. "The secretary in the lawmaker's office who brought the sexual misconduct issue up on the agenda of the (party's) women's committee was assaulted by a party official, and the case was investigated by the prosecution.
However, the victim has been forced to withdraw her case," he said. "This is why I had no choice but to break my silence and stand here today."
Kang added, "I have been more eager than anyone to reform the prosecution. I joined the Fatherland Reform Party with the feeling that I would stand up against enormous power and that if I alone could contribute to justice, that would be enough."
"But what I faced was sexual harassment, sexual misconduct and abuse by people I believed to be my comrades," she continued.
She also said, "At first, I thought I would just have to endure it. I believed that one day the perpetrator would feel ashamed.
I heard the voices of victims who were younger and younger than me, in their first year of working life, saying, 'I want help,'" she said. "Their lives were falling apart in the face of workplace harassment that no one can endure alone.
"And so I took the victims' hands," she explained, especially because she believed that it was my responsibility as the vice-chairman of the (party's) women's committee and as a senior member of the committee.
"The cries of the victims were ignored," he said, adding, "The ethics committee and personnel committee were made up of people close to the perpetrators, and requests to establish an external investigative body were not accepted."
