Director Park Chan-wook, Lee Byung-hun, Song Ye-ji and other members of the film 'No Other Choice' team heat up the Venice Film Festival
The film 'No Other Choice', which was selected for the competition section of the 82nd Venice International Film Festival and will open the 30th Busan International Film Festival, successfully concluded its official press conference and photo call on the 29th (local time).

'No Other Choice' tells the story of Man-soo (Lee Byung-hun), an office worker who was so satisfied with his life that he felt he had "accomplished" it, but who, after being laid off from his company, prepares his own battle to find new employment.

The official press conference for the Venice International Film Festival took place from 2:10 pm on the same day and lasted 30 minutes, with the participation of director Park Chan-wook, actor Lee Byung-hun, actress Son Ye-jin, actors Park Hee-soon and Lee Sung-min, and actress Yeon Hye-ran.

Various international media outlets flocked to the press conference, proving the keen interest in director Park Chan-wook, who visited Venice for the third time following 'Beautiful Night, Cruel Morning' (2004, Midnight Express Section) and 'Sympathy for Lady Vengeance' (2005, Main Competition Section).

When asked about the preparation process for the film, director Park Chan-wook said, "The reason I didn't give up on this project for 20 years is because when I told people the story, they really resonated with me, no matter what time period or country they were from, and they responded that the timing was good. That's why I thought it was a story I could make someday."

Next, when asked about his impressions of working with director Park Chan-wook, Lee Byung-hun replied, "When I first heard about the film, I thought it sounded very interesting, and I participated with excitement in my heart."

Recalling the time when she received the script, Son Ye-jin said, "The story was intense, beautiful, and tragic. Everything was packed with meaning." She added, "After reading the entire script, I thought it would produce a huge film."

When asked what motivated her to appear in the film, Park Hee-soon replied, "The script was very interesting. It's a film with a striking black comedy."

Lee Sung-min expressed his satisfaction with the film, saying, "I was reminded of why movies should be seen in theaters. I think the essence of film is being able to experience a great story, beautiful visuals, and wonderful music all at once."

Yeon Hye-rang said, "If this film had been completed 20 years ago, we wouldn't have been able to work together," and added, "I feel fortunate in that respect."

At the photocall following the official press conference, director Park Chan-wook drew a passionate response with relaxed gestures in response to the flashes of the reporters who filled the event venue. The cast, including Lee Byung-hun, Son Ye-jin, Park Hee-soon, Lee Sung-min, and Yeon Hye-rang, further enhanced the warm and sweet atmosphere on set with their smiles and eye contact.

'No Other Choice' is scheduled to be released in Korea on September 24th.
