North Gyeongsang Province and Tottori Prefecture hold international forum to ”overcome low birth rates” = South Korea
On the 28th, Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea, held the "Gyeongsangbuk-do-Tottori Prefecture International Joint Forum on Overcoming Low Birthrates" with Tottori Prefecture at a hotel in Andong City.
This forum is the first to be organized by local governments in Japan and South Korea to jointly address the issues of low birth rates and an aging population.

"We would like to hold regular forums between the two local governments to share strategies and experiences," he said. In May of last year, Governor Lee and Tottori Governor Shinji Hirai agreed to "policy cooperation."
Since the "Tottori Childcare Kingdom Declaration" in 2010, Tottori Prefecture has maintained a higher total fertility rate than the average for Japan through proactive childcare policies, and has been praised as a model region for addressing low birth rates.
