China's National Energy Administration reports July electricity consumption up 8.6% year-on-year

The National Energy Administration recently released China's electricity consumption figures for July, showing that total electricity consumption in July rose 8.6% year-on-year to 1.226 trillion kilowatt-hours.
Looking at electricity consumption by industry, primary industry increased by 20.2% to 17 billion kWh, secondary industry increased by 4.7% to 593.6 billion kWh, and tertiary industry increased by 1.5% to 1.5 billion kWh.
Electricity consumption for daily life in urban and rural areas rose 18.0% to 203.9 billion kWh.
Meanwhile, electricity consumption in society as a whole from January to July increased by 4.5% compared to the same period last year to a cumulative total of 5,863.3 billion kilowatt-hours.
The total power generation of industries with primary operating revenues of 20 million yen or more (approximately 410 million yen) was 5,470.3 billion kilowatt-hours.
By industry, primary industry increased by 10.8% to 84.7 billion kWh, secondary industry increased by 2.8% to 3.
The total consumption of electricity for daily life in urban and rural areas increased by 7.6% to 913.2 billion kWh.
