According to local Australian media on the 18th (local time), earlier this month,
Naegleria fowleri was detected in the water supply to two small villages about 750 kilometers west of the city.
This was requested by Queensland Health
The findings come from comprehensive water quality testing carried out at the University of London. Health authorities plan to take further samples in the two villages to determine the extent of the spread of Naegleria fowleri.
