According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the added value of industrial enterprises of a certain size (enterprises with annual main operating revenues of 20 million yen or more) increased by 5.7% in July compared to the same month last year.
Compared to the previous month, it showed an increase of 0.38%. In terms of added value by the three major sectors, mining increased by 5.0% compared to the same month last year, manufacturing increased by 6.2%, and the production and supply of electricity, thermal energy, gas and water increased by 1.2%.
By type of company, added value increased by 5.4% for state-owned companies, 6.5% for joint-stock companies, 2.8% for foreign, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan-invested companies, 5.0% for private companies, and 1.4% for private companies.
By industry, the added value of 35 out of 41 industries maintained an increasing trend compared to the same month last year. By product category, the production volume of 335 out of 623 industrial products increased.
In July, the product sales rate of industrial enterprises of a certain size or larger was 97.1%, down 0.2 percentage points from the previous year. In addition, the export value of industrial products increased by 0.8% to 1.2904 trillion yen (
