The songs registered on V's official account profile surpassed 5 billion streams on August 14th on Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform.
The solo tracks credited to V include his first solo album 'Layover', as well as OSTs and original compositions. His unique musical style, distinct from BTS's music, has captured the hearts of listeners.
His first solo album 'Layover' became the first K-POP solo artist album to surpass 100 million streams on Spotify, achieving both artistic and mainstream success. On Spotify's global weekly chart, all tracks reached the number one spot.
'Layover' peaked at number two on Billboard's main album chart, the Billboard 200, and became the first K-POP solo album to have all tracks chart on both the Billboard Global 200 and the Global 200 (excluding the U.S.) charts. The album received a Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ), and the tracks “Love Me Again” and “Slow Dancing” received Gold certifications from the Recording Industry of New Zealand (RIANZ).
V holds the record for the most songs with over 400 million streams among K-POP solo artists. There are a total of six songs with over 400 million streams, including 'Love Me Again' with 1.07 billion streams, 'FRI(END)S' 529.4 million streams, 'Slow Dancing' 524.5 million streams, 'Christmas Tree' 462.6 million streams, 'Sweet Night' 431.5 million streams, and 'Winter Ahead' 410.2 million streams. 'Love Me Again' surpassed 1 billion streams, earning it a spot in the Billion Club.
According to the music data platform ChartMasters, V's official Spotify account has 19,842,380 followers. This ranks first among K-POP solo artists and fourth when including groups. Among global pop stars, only 127 artists have over 19 million followers.
