The National Bureau of Statistics released the July manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) on the 31st. According to the figures, China's manufacturing PMI for July fell 0.4 points from the previous month to 49.
The PMI for large companies was 50.3, down 0.9 points from the previous month, while that for medium-sized and small companies was 50.3.
Of the five sub-indices that make up the manufacturing PMI, the production index fell 0.5 points to 49.5, while the small business index fell 0.9 points to 46.4.
The index for new orders fell 0.8 points to 49.4, and the index for raw material inventory ratio fell 0.3 points to 49.4.
The non-manufacturing PMI, which covers the construction and services industries, was 50.1, down 0.1 points from the previous month, at 47.7, and the Employees Index rose 0.1 points to 48.0, both of which were below 50.
