パク・チャヌク監督の新作、ソン・イェジン&イ・ビョンホン主演映画「仕方がない」…ヴェネツィア映画祭招待
Park Chan-wook's new film ”It Can't Be Helped,” starring Song Ye-Ji-N and Lee Byung Hun, is invited to the Venice Film Festival
Director Park Chan-wook's new film "Can't Be Helped" has been invited to compete in the 82nd Venice International Film Festival, which opens on the 27th of next month.
This new work is Director Park's first in three years since "Decision to Break Up" in 2022.
The Venice Film Festival made this announcement at a press conference on the 22nd when it announced the 21 films invited to compete, including "It Can't Be Helped."
It has been 13 years since a Korean film was invited to the Venice Film Festival's competition section, since the late director Kim Ki-duk's "Pieta" in 2012.
This is the second time for director Park Chan-wook and the first time in 20 years that a film has been invited to the festival's competition category.
Director Park won the same award once before in 2005 for the film "Sympathy for Lady Vengeance."
In 2004, he was invited to the non-competitive category for the anthology film "Three Monsters."
The story is about a man who is suddenly fired and then tries to find a new job to protect his wife Miri and their two children.
The story is based on the novel "AX". Man-soo is played by actor Lee Byung Hun, his wife Mi-ri is played by actress Song Ye-ji, and Park Hee Soon, Lee Sun-min, and Yeom
- Helang and Cha Seung Won co-starred in the film. The Venice Film Festival is one of the three major international film festivals along with Cannes and Berlin.
The invited films in the Competition section will compete for the Golden Lion (Best Film Award).
In 2012, "Pieta" became the first Korean film to win the award.
