China's fixed asset investment up 2.8% year-on-year in first half: Chinese report

China's fixed asset investment (excluding farmers) in the first half of the year increased 2.8% year-on-year to 24.8654 trillion former (about 515.1 trillion yen). Of this, private fixed asset investment fell 0.6% year-on-year.
By industry, primary industry investment increased by 6.5% to 481.6 billion former (approximately 10 trillion yen), secondary industry investment increased by 10.2% to 8.8294 trillion former (approximately 183 trillion yen), and tertiary industry investment increased by 10.2% to 8.8294 trillion former (approximately 183 trillion yen).
The total investment in the secondary industry increased by 10.3%. Of this, mining increased by 3.4%, manufacturing increased by 7.5%, and electricity increased by 1.5%.
The tertiary industry saw an increase of 4.5% in infrastructure investment (excluding the production and supply of electricity, thermal energy, gas and water).
The industry grew by 21.8%, water management by 15.4%, and rail transport by 4.2%.
By type of establishment, fixed asset investment by domestic companies increased by 2.8%, while investment in Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan increased by 2.7%.
Investment in fixed assets (excluding farms) in June fell 0.12% from the previous month.
